Knowing your porosity will help you understand the products and combinations that maximize your hair's hydration while minimizing the steps involved in your hair routine.

The level of hair porosity, ie its ability to absorb and retain moisture, is determined by the shape of the cuticles that make up the hair. Hair porosity can be: low, normal or high. The porosity of your hair can change over time, the care you give it, as well as the external environment can make you vary the level of porosity of your hair either by improving it or by deteriorating it. Be particularly alert if your porosity is high, as this is often synonymous with damaged and damaged hair.

How do I know if I have very porous hair?

  • Does your hair feel very dry quickly after being moisturized?
  • Is your hair often dull?
  • Does your hair often frizz out of control?
  • Do you have trouble moisturizing your hair with sprays?
  • Is your hair very brittle?
  • Do you have hair treated with products with chemical content (coloring, relaxers, texturizers)?

If you answered YES to more than 3 questions, your hair is mostly very porous; HIGH POROSITY.

How do I know if I have low porosity hair?

  • Does your hair take time to absorb water?
  • Is your hair often greasy or oily?
  • Do most products leave a white residue on your hair?
  • Does your hair take more than a day to air dry?
  • Do you have trouble moisturizing your hair with cream butters?
  • Does your hair quickly become "hard" with certain products?

If you answered YES to more than 3 questions, your hair is mostly low porosity; LOW POROSITY.
